British Soldier Far East WW2

Patrick Ang's new piece is his contribution to Merdeka09. This Hornet figure represents the British Soldier in the Far East campaigns during WW2

Titled "The Retreat", this half naked wading soldier represents the many thousands of His Majesty,  King George V's Army Men who served in WW2 during the Japanese invasion. Out manouvered and unpreprared, the British were practically caught with 'their pants down', more so because of poor warfare preparation, inaction and responding poorly in a everchanging fighting environment and culture which they were not too familiar with.

This white metal Hornet figure was married to a Jaguar resin base and handpainted with acrylics and oils. The vignette was completed with clear water resin and Future.
